11.11/eleven eleven Care Guide: For Natural Longevity of our Bandhani Garments

Celebrating indigenous craft practices and traditional techniques, our master artisans handspun yarns to create natural handwoven fabrics, further enriched with our in-house plant-based dye recipes. Although entirely natural, these garments are designed to be lived in for years, softening, evolving, and ageing beautifully with you.

Our garments are easy to care for and maintain without the hassle of dry cleaning. In a hurry? Just a quick cycle in the washing machine is enough. Here are some quick ways for these garments to remain fresh as new -

The left seam of every garment contains care instructions.

MATERIAL CARE:

All our fabrics are 100% pure and natural, be it indigenous cotton, Linen, Silk, Wool, etc. Every piece comes with its simple care instructions and craft story. A few quick and simple ways to maintain them-

  • Wash deeper coloured garments separately, while similar colours can be washed together.
  • Wash the garments inside out.
  • In a Washing Machine, use a slow cycle in cold water, not more than 25 minutes, with mild or a smaller quantity of detergent.
  • Don’t soak in water for too long. No dry cleaning.
  • We advise keeping them away from direct harsh sunlight for too long.
  • Natural fibres thrive when allowed to breathe, so you can also air your garments in the shade after wear to keep them fresh.
  • Keep them in their natural state. Interaction with harsh chemicals or bleaches can deteriorate the beauty of the piece.

Our Bandhani garments come with a mesh bag.

CRAFT TECHNIQUES - BANDHANI CARE:

Only with our exceptional Indian Bandhani (a traditional tie and dye technique), we provide you with a mesh bag. This is to preserve the unique crushed texture of the garment for a longer time, retaining its artisanal charm.

  • Gentle, quick handwash with the garment in a mesh bag.
  • In the Washing Machine, use cold water and wash in a slow cycle, not more than 25 minutes, with mild or a smaller quantity of normal detergent.
  • Wash inside out. Avoid soaking in water for too long.
  • Dry flat the garment in the mesh bag (no direct sunlight).
  • Air-dry the garment in the shade. Keep it in the mesh bag.
  • Wash the garment with similar colours without mixing darker colours with lighter ones.
  • No dry cleaning, ironing, or bleaching/use of harsh chemicals.
